SSS Public Safety Ltd announces that Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Services have selected their innovative and secure hosted Public Safety Ecosystem for UK Fire and Rescue Services.
Two neighbouring Fire and Rescue Services in the UK, Warwickshire FRS and Northamptonshire FRS, have been working together for many years using Vision Command & Control but the move to share a securely hosted environment will deliver greater resilience and collaboration to support their Control Room and Mobilising operations.
This new service, chosen following an open procurement exercise, will move a number of shared capabilities and common databases into a shared solution, reducing the pressure on local IT infrastructure, enhancing incident exchange and support in spate conditions whilst maintaining local management of workflow and procedures. The new service will also provide integrated connections to the national emergency services communications system, Airwave, and the nationwide hub for Multi-Agency Incident Transfer (MAIT).
Paul Bullen, Assistant Chief Officer of Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue, said: “We have used the Vision mobilising system through all of its iterations over the years, the last six years or so in partnership with Warwickshire FRS. I am delighted that we have jointly agreed to upgrade to this new innovative system that we believe will enhance the capabilities of the service which in turn will help Keep Northamptonshire Safer.”
Ben Brook, Chief Fire Officer of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue, adds: “Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service is committed to providing the best possible services to the community. This can only be achieved through collaboration and the use of cutting-edge technology and digital solutions. We are excited to be moving forward with Northamptonshire FRS and SSS Public Safety Limited to implement this new system.”
The Public Safety Ecosystem has been built to allow Services to adopt its common core capabilities and benefit from the resilience and increased collaboration it delivers. A shared environment will also provide a roadmap for deeper integration of new technologies as they emerge and the ability to serve wider capabilities to support more agile and mobile working.
